Matlab: Free Licence Details

Our licence allows you to install Matlab on any laptop or home computer belonging to staff and students of the Faculty of Economics.

Getting a Licence / Activation Key

  1. 1. Go to http://sales-web-server.csx.cam.ac.uk/software/
  2. 2. Login with your Raven ID
  3. 3. Choose 'Institutional Purchase' from the quick links.

  4. 4. Put 'Item Id' 8885 in the box and select 'add to cart'. This is the Item id for the Matlab Licence only and should appear as "MATLAB 2011b/Windows, Linux & MacOS X - Stand Alone Licence" in your basket..

    When you order your Matlab licence you can also order an installation DVD for either Windows, MacOS and Linux.There is a charge for each cd. However the Faculty has purchased some installation disks to be shared. You can borrow a disc from the IT Support Team, by coming to room 53 in the Faculty building.

  5. 5. Go to 'Begin Checkout'

  6. 6. Complete the online Order Form.

  7. 7. Print the Order Form and Terms and Conditions page. Sign and date the Terms form and return it to Computing Service Software Sales (New Museum Site). This can be sent via the University's internal UMS post.
  8. 8. Once the Computing Service has recived and processed your order, they will send you Licence Key and Certficate.
  9. 9. You can then install and register your copy of Matlab
