Web page

The Library Web Page http://www.econ.cam.ac.uk/marshlib/ gives access to the updated and fuller version of this guide along with the termly issues of the Marshall Library IT Newsletter, details of library accessions, and full lists of journals and working papers held by the Library. It has a large number of links to economics websites including links to on-line economics journals.

Access to on-line services and databases

Computer terminals are available in the Stats Room. They can be used to access the Faculty network and the internet (to receive a user-ID ask for a form at the Reception in the Austin Robinson building).

Access is also available to other resources on the internet. These include bibliographic sources such as the Social Science Citation Index and International Bibliography of the Social Sciences. Sources of online journals include JSTOR, Ingenta journals, IDEAL and Catchword. For other networked datasets made available by the University Library see their web page.

The Library hopes to add on-line access to the Economist and Financial Times shortly. However, these and other newspapers are available on-line at the University Library.

Recommendations

The Library requests reading lists from all Faculty lecturers, and buys all new titles on them, wherever possible. Reading lists will be available on the Faculty Network in due course. We also welcome recommendations from students (blue forms available by the catalogue terminals).

Photocopying

There are several photocopying machines in the Library. All are operated by cards, which may be purchased at the Loans Counter. Please note the restrictions on photocopying imposed by the Copyright Act, details of which are posted beside each machine.

Inter-library loans

An inter-library loan service is available at a charge of £3.00 per request. An inter-library loan service is also available at the University Library.
